"The trade in human persons is a
shocking offence against human dignity and a grave
violation of fundamental human rights."
Pope John Paul II - May
15, 2002 letter
When did slavery end? Answer: It
didn’t. Today 27 million men, women and children
are forced to work as slaves in agriculture,
manufacturing, domestic servitude, the restaurant
industry, and the sex trade. Human trafficking exists in
almost every country in the world—even in every state in
the USA! Slaves often remain invisible to the common
person, but their condition cries out for salvation. Visit the
Salvatorians (Sisters of the Divine Savior, Society of the
Divine Savior, Lay Salvatorians) at
www.sdssisters.org/slavery or contact Sister
Patrice Colletti, SDS, at
collettip@salvatoriansisters.org to find out more or to learn
what YOU can do as part of today’s Abolition Movement.
As an international Congregation, Sisters of the Divine Savior have made it a priority to unite with a million religious Sisters
worldwide to address the abuse and
exploitation of women in particular
who feel there is no way out .
Help us support SAVE...
SDS Hope House offers women an opportunity to take
the next step in their journey toward self-sufficient
living after seeking shelter from situations of
enslavement. Learn more at
